Revenue rose 11.2% to Rs.578.4 crore from Rs.519.9 crore.
The DTH provider also added 200,000 net subscribers in the quarter, taking its customer base to 15.1 million.
“The first quarter saw the company deliver strong free
cash flows while maintaining healthy customer retention and investing in
brand equity,” said Subhash Chandra, chairman, Dish TV India.
The subscriber acquisition cost (SAC) was lower at Rs.1,828 compared with Rs.1,996 in the immediately preceding quarter. Dish TV’s average revenue per user (Arpu) for the three months was Rs.165, an increase of 5.1% from Rs.157.
“In line with our expectations, pack price hikes and
improved subscriber quality in the recent months resulted in a
strengthened Arpu,” said Jawahar Goel, managing director.
He said subscription revenue had increased 15.9% year-on-year. “The resultant free cash flow of Rs.484 million (Rs.4.84 crore today) compares favourably with Rs.220 million in the fourth quarter and Rs.650 million for the whole of fiscal 2013,” added Goel.
