Kadal is an upcoming bi-lingual romantic film made in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously. The film is directed and produced by ace Director Mani Ratnam under his own banner Madras Talkies.
Evergreen actor Karthik's son Gautham Karthik debuts as hero while yesteryear actress Radha's second daughter Thulasi Nair debuts as heroine. Arvind Samy, who worked with Mani Ratnam in superhit movies like Roja and Bombay, is making a comeback after a long hiatus by playing a crucial role in this film. Action king Arjun, Pasupathy, Lakshmi Manchu and Thambi Ramaiah are all playing supporting roles.
The story of the film has been jointly written by Jayamohan and Mani Ratnam. A. R. Rahman composed the music. Cinematographer Rajiv Menon reunites with Mani Ratnam after films like Bombay and Guru while Sreekar Prasad is in charge of the Editing.
Gemini film Circuit has bought the theatrical rights of the film for a whopping price of 25 Crores! Kadal is expected to be released in February of 2013.
